Abstract
Introduction: Children with Apert Syndrome have hypertelorism and midfacial hypoplasia, which can be treated with midfacial bipartition (MB) or midfacial bipartition distraction utilising rigid external distraction (MBD-RED). These techniques involve a midline osteotomy that lateralises the maxillary segments, resulting in posterior cross-bites and midline diastema.
