Abstract

The pivotal role of local anesthesia in dentistry is to provide comfort for the patient, but also as much comfort for the clinician as the procedures can be performed under the best possible conditions. Several clinical procedures carried out both on adult and pediatric patients in dentistry require the administration of palatal injections for achieving local anesthesia. Palatal injections are often painful due to the keratinized palatal mucosa, particularly for pediatric patients in which patient's cooperation is a challenge. This short communication aims to explore in brief about the potential usage of needle-free injections in dental practice.
