Abstract

Density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity of aqueous solutions of sodium salycilate have been determined at (298.15, 303.13, 308.15 and 313.15) K. Different interaction parameters have been calculated using the experimental values of density, viscosity and ultrasonic velocity of aqueous solutions of sodium salycilate. Furthermore, hydration free energy of sodium salicylate has been computed by using the DFT RB3LYP method at 6–31 ++ G (d, p) basis set. Results are interpreted in terms of solute–solvent interactions.
