Abstract

Monte Carlo simulations are performed to calculate the density of states on L D block lattices, and high precision estimates for the leading partition function zeros are obtained. With the help of a finite size scaling analysis one can look for the critical exponent v, and investigate the behaviour of the maximum of the specific heat. Results are presented for 2D 10-state Potts and 3D 3-state Potts models.
