Abstract

We propose to employ the standing-wave pattern of TE mode in a cylindrical waveguide to form the density bunches during the interaction of microwave and plasma. These bunches can be tailored uniformly by varying the microwave frequency, microwave intensity, electron temperature and initial plasma density profile in the waveguide if the fundamental mode is employed. Such types of density bunches may find application in terahertz radiation generation mechanisms.
