Abstract

A dense dielectric (DD)patch antenna with parasitic elements using aperture coupling is investigated .This can provide better bandwidth compared to DD patch antenna without using parasitic patches. An impedance bandwidth of 3.4% and gain of 7dBi is obtained by reducing the surface wave losses by the application of parasitic elements. The reflection coefficient, gain and radiation pattern were simulated and parametric study was conducted by using Ansoft HFSS software.
