Abstract
A hypertext database was developed to aid a corporate in its evaluation and redesign of visual inspection operations. Inspection-sensitive factors were integrated into an overall framework, literature was summarized, then sites were visited to measure the levels and impacts of these factors on visual inspection operations. This information is available in many locations of the package. The resulting HTML package allows managers, engineers, and others to start either with a facility or with a specific inspection factor, then work down to the level of literature, finding appropriate answers, in one integrated framework.
