ZusammenfassungDieser Essay geht zwei Fragen nach: Haben die Protestbewegungen der letzten Jahrzehnte zu einer Demokratisierung der bundesrepublikanischen Gesellschaft beigetragen? Sind Protestgruppen und soziale Bewegungen in ihren internen Strukturen und Kommunikationsformen demokratischer geworden? Die Antwort auf die erste Frage fällt skeptisch aus. Deutlich positiver ist für progressive soziale Bewegungen die Bilanz im Hinblick auf die zweite Frage.
