Abstract

In this paper, the Demand Clustering and Spectrum Allocation (DCSA) problem in a point-to-multipoint (P2MP) network with time-varying traffic is studied. This article introduces several heuristic techniques that can be applied to traffic aggregation for P2MP optical network architectures employing digital subcarrier multiplexing. Based on the transmitter constraint, the algorithms assign individual subcarriers (SCs) to receiving nodes with uncorrelated traffic profiles. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithms outperform the clustering methods.
