Abstract
The British Society of Gastroenterology guidelines for the management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in adults (Carter et al, 2004) recommend that the role of the IBD nurse specialist should include ‵developing and leading teaching plans for patients and other healthcare professionals involved in IBD management′.
