Abstract

The Olmsted Locks and Dam, the largest civil works project by the US Army Corps of Engineers since the Panama Canal, became operational in August 2018. More than 30 years in the making, the $3-billion project on the Ohio River improves navigation on a critical stretch of the U.S. inland waterway systems.
