Abstract

SummaryA newly delineated reservoir in the North Sea Viking graben contains fluids that are at near-critical conditions. This paper presents a global approach for the delineation program, fluid correlation, and subsequent reservoir simulation studies. The delineation history and fluid sampling are detailed first. Fluid data correlation is presented, based on the use of an equation-of-state (EOS) program. Then, the compositional simulator, which provided satisfactory fluid representation for full-field studies and proved to be reliable and cost-efficient, is described.
