Abstract
Atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial flutter are common cardiac arrhythmias treated with electrical cardioversion (DCR) to restore sinus rhythm (SR). The primary outcome of the study was to ascertain the long-term maintenance of SR in this all-comer patient population undergoing elective DCR. Secondary outcomes involved reporting on periprocedural safety, predictors of long-term (greater than 1 year) maintenance of SR and clinical outcomes including mortality or hospitalisation of heart failure or AF.
