Abstract

SummaryReports of delayed induction or “all or nothing” local anaesthetic resistance are well documented in patients with connective tissue disorders [1] but, as yet, no clear relationship between myopathies and local anaesthetic resistance is known. We discuss a case of a five‐hour delay in onset of sciatic nerve blockade, on two separate occasions, in a patient with myosin storage myopathy, a form of congenital myopathy. We believe this to be first clinical documentation of such a phenomenon.
