Abstract

A 13-week-old male infant was referred to a pediatric neurosurgery clinic for evaluation of an occipitoparietal scalp mass without any trauma. He was born by vacuum-assisted delivery at 40 weeks’ gestation and weighed 3330 g at birth. No scalp swelling or bruising was observed in the immediate postnatal period. At 7 weeks, the parents noted a mobile and fluctuant scalp swelling, which increased and then stabilized. It was soft, nontender, and not limited by suture lines. No signs of bruising or trauma were noted (Fig. 1).
