Abstract
This paper deals with the delay-dependent stability analysis of network-controlled DC motor with time-invariant delays. An analytical method is developed by including gain and phase margins for establishing the stability delay margins (DMs) of the system. The stability region of the DC motor with a proportional-integral (PI) controller and fractional-order PI controller is plotted in the parametric space of the controller in two-dimensional space. DMs are determined for various controller parameters. The impact of time-delay (TD) on system stability is evaluated by the proposed method. The presented methodology is applicable for analysis and design of the controller for TD systems. This finding contributes significantly to tuning of the controller. The accuracy of the determined results are validated on the simulation benchmark.
