Abstract

In this paper, a weight-based approach has been suggested that maximises network lifetime by considering joint performances of real time and energy efficiency. K mean clustering is adopted for cluster formation and the cluster head selection technique has been proposed that takes into account node position, residual energy and cluster head selection frequency in subsequent rounds. In order to maintain QoS, a re-clustering technique and a direction scheme has been adopted. This approach results in equal load distribution as despite of changing the location of sink node, the effect of consumed energy on the network is negligible. A simulation result shows our algorithm performance is better in terms of network lifetime energy consumption transmission delay.
