Abstract
We analyse queueing delay behaviour of real-time applications with different quality of service (QoS) classes under priority-first come first served (P-FCFS) scheduling discipline in an ATM network. The delay distributions of constant bit rate (CBR) traffic with distinct priorities and with several priority classes are derived respectively and numerical results are provided. In conclusion, P-FCFS in conjunction with deterministic bit rate (DBR) transfer capability can be used in managing diverse real-time QoS requirements.
