Abstract
Ten percent of patients report a penicillin (PCN) allergy although <1% have been confirmed. Beta lactam antibiotics are routinely used for peripartum infection prophylaxis, including group B Streptococcus (GBS). Delabeling PCN allergy prenatally improves maternal and neonatal outcomes. We hypothesized that PCN allergy patient education would increase allergy referrals, delabeling rates, and improve clinical outcomes.
