Abstract
The Guerrero family kept a prebend in the chapter of the cathedral of Murcia for one hundred and fifty years without interruption. Native to the village of Hellin, this presence has to be seen as the result of family strategies that that pursuing the installation of this lineage between the local elite. This paper will explore what meant for the Guerrero family having a relative who was a prebendary; it will confirm that his intervention and assistance were essential to build and consolidate the process of social ascent.
