Abstract

Abstract The temperature and flow rate dependence of the dehydration of SnCl2(OH2) · H2O , having a layered structure, into SnCl2 in a dry inert gas stream is studied. The experimental results obtained via chlorine NQR and weight measurements are analysed in the light of the structural transformation of this compound. The mechanism of water depletion from the layered structure is discussed.
