Abstract

This contribution discusses the design of permanent magnet (PM) machines in the context of very demanding applications such as electrical vehicles traction. The goal is to inventory the additional degrees of freedom which could be advantageously used in the optimal design of PM electrical machines. Indeed, identifying these additional degrees of freedom will help positively responding to highly constrained design problems.
