Abstract

Polarization singularities are point singularities in vector fields where azimuth of polarization ellipse is not defined. C points and V points are generic polarization singularities. We report here the degeneracy present in dark C point polarization singularities. Dark C points of same index and polarization distribution can be generated using different combinations of orthogonally circularly polarized vortex beams and hence these are degenerate. We also discuss some of the possible methods for lifting the degeneracy of dark C points. Simulation results are presented.
