Abstract

Deformation and recrystallization structures, as well as recrystallization kinetics, of an AlMn 1.04% alloy containing Mn both in solid solution and as precipitate phase, have been investigated by optical and electron microscopy, X-rays and micro-hardness. Results indicate that, on the whole, precipitate tends to influence deformation structures, whereas Mn in solid solution strongly controls recrystallization kinetics.
