Abstract

The stress-strain-strength properties of normally consolidated organic soil under general stress condition are presented based on the experimental results. The stress-strain relationships under axisymmetric stress condition are derived first based on two components. One is strain increments due to stress ratio increments and another is one due to mean effective principal stress increments. Also, we proposed a new failure criterion under three different principal stresses from the results of true triaxial tests. Moreover, the stress-strain relationships under axisymmetric stress condition were generalized with this failure criterion.
