Abstract

The results of experimental studies into the regularities of the plastic deformation of F-4 polytetrafluoroethylene under free compression depending on the pressure and temperature of heating of the primary blank are given; their influence on the structural changes in the deformed material is shown. It is estimated that the moldability of F-4 polymer samples is observed starting from the heating temperature range of 60–100°C and compacting pressure of 1–1.5 MPa. A further increase in pressure and temperature does not lead to any significant enhancement of the moldability of the material.
