Abstract

The mechanical properties of boron-aluminum with a volume content of boron fibers of 0.39 are studied by experiment. Tests on tubular specimens are carried out under the action of tension (compression), torsion, and internal (external) pressure. Tests are also carried out for extension of annular specimens. Standard test machines and an experimental device are used for the tests. Different criteria are analyzed for strength from the point of view of the best description of experimental data. A mechanism is considered for damage accumulation and material failure.
