Abstract
The characterization of CFRP mechanical behavior under dynamic loading is an important topic for research laboratories. Literature reveals disparities in the evolution of shear behavior of CFRP materials under dynamic loading. Due to the lack of normative protocol for dynamic loading, these disparities can come from the geometry of the specimens used, which is generally reduced for dynamic testing. In this paper, the non-linear shear behavior of composite materials is characterized to analyze the effect of reduced geometry on the irreversible shear strain obtained compared to the reference geometry used for the quasi-static [±45°]ns tensile test. This recommendation is a first step in determining the pre-normative geometry of a [±45°]ns CFRP specimen adapted to dynamic loading
