Abstract

A study was conducted wherein supervisors and supervisees described the most important incidents of live supervision immediately after supervised therapy sessions. The findings revealed that both supervisors and supervisees found instruction and support to be useful to skill development. An additional finding suggested that supervisees perceived an aspect of autonomy in the supervision which they found helpful to their skill development. The territory of supervision in the live supervision context is discussed in light of the findings, and a model for guiding supervisors is offered.
