Abstract
The history of different leprosy management strategies in Queensland and the role of Sir Raphael Cilento in Aboriginal health and leprosy management in twentieth century Queensland are discussed. The establishment and operations of the Aboriginal only leprosarium on Fantome Island is highlighted.
