Abstract
In this paper, we present a scheme called Extended Deficit Round Robin (EDRR) that is a combination of hop-byhop credit based flow control with a modified version of Deficit Round Robin (DRR) scheduling to achieve network wide maxmin fair share (MMFS). To the best of our knowledge, EDRR is the first scheme that combines DRR with hop-by-hop credit based flow control. EDRR does not suffer from unfairness caused by variable packet lengths and is not affected by the underlying quantum value used for DRR scheduling.
