Summary1. A marked deficiency of the low activity carbonic anhydrase isoenzyme (CAI) has been found in chinchillas, resulting in a 90% reduction in CAI.2. The trace of CAI found in deficient animals exhibits a similar immunological reaction and electrophoretic migration to the usual CAI (+).
