Abstract
The former KGB colonels concluded their remarks on a positive note. They all agreed that cooperative linkshavebeenestablishedbetween the Russian intelligence services and the West. They pointed to Russian cooperation with the CIA and FBI in the intelligence and counter-intelligence areas to combat mafia organizations, weapons smuggling, the illegal narcotics trade and pollution. They feel that the Russian and Western intelligence services have many common interests and support efforts to consolidate and strengthen links between them.
