Abstract

The oxygen deficit δ of Nd2-xCexCuO4-δ with x=0, 0.05 and 0.15 was determined as a function of oxygen partial pressure (Po2) at various temperatures. When the δ-log Po2 curve at a specified temperature was chosen and the curves for other temperatures were shifted along the abscissa, all the measured data were found to form a single smooth curve, which is called a master curve. A theoretical equation providing δ as functions of Po2 and cerium concentration was derived. The calculated curve was found to be in good agreement with the master curve.
