Abstract

AbstractAiming at the incomplete fusion defect of piston rod friction welded joint, the ultrasonic testing was used to detect the component joint, and the noisy ultrasonic echo signal was extracted. The noisy defect signal was denoised by wavelet denoising method The results show that: (1) effectiveness and accuracy of detection were improved with the help of the echo siganl whose signal-to-noise ratio was improved by optimized wavelet threshold denoising algorithm; (2) the multi position edge points of the defect were determined through the theoretical calculation of the detection data, thus the two-dimensional contour reconstruction of the incomplete fusion defect was realized though the fitting of the defect edge points, and the reconstruction results are basically consistent with the destructive inspection results.KeywordsDefect reconstructionFeatures extractionUltrasonic testing
