Abstract

Brief article by Julian Harris (Deputy General Editor, Amicus Curiae) on the impact of Lord Lester's private members's Defamation Bill in the House of Lords on May 26th, 2010 aiming to "reform English defamation law so that it strikes a fair balance between the fundamental right to freedom of expression and public information and the protection of good reputation" and moves by the Ministry of Justice to publish a draft Defamation Bill for pre-legislative scrutiny.
