Abstract

In the paper, main features of surface waves excited at the edge of an anisotropic impedance wedge under plane-wave illumination are analysed. In particular, explicit closed-form expressions for the surface-wave propagation vectors are given, which are valid for an arbitrary geometrical and electrical wedge configuration. From the point of view of applications, this allows effective hybrid analytical-numerical methods to be derived, accounting for the presence of surface-wave field contributions excited by the diffraction phenomenon at the edge of the wedge.
