Abstract

Objectives: Deep sternal wound infections (DSWI) are an obnoxious surgical task, often performed by numerous surgeons applying different strategies. Hence, a patient can experience frequent changes in therapeutic strategy in short order. A treatment algorithm may standardize the surgical approach and improve quality and patient outcome.
