Abstract

Introduction: High-frequency DBS of particular brain areas has demonstrated to produce not only local changes in neuronal excitability but also distal effects widespread in the brain [1]. However, no controlled studies have been published in schizophrenia yet. The aim of the present study is to investigate changes in the regional cerebral glucose metabolism in individuals with Treatment Resistant Schizophrenia who underwent DBS treatment.
