Abstract
Data confidentiality is the major issue which thwart the growth of cloud computing. Traditional encryption techniques are not fit to apply in Cloud environment, so homomorphic encryption techniques is the need of hour for data encryption in Cloud. The homomorphic techniques can operate on encrypted data and thus, removes the limitations of the traditional encryption techniques. In this paper, we have described the various homomorphic encryption techniques in a very simplified way so that readers can understand the core concept of homomorphism without getting entangled in complex mathematics.
