Abstract

Abstract Angiography is frequently used to demonstrate obstructing lesions in arteriovenous shunts in patients on chronic hemodialysis. Injection of the arterial side is extremely painful. Immediate aspiration of blood following arterial injection of contrast medium significantly decreases patient discomfort without sacrificing the quality of the examination.
