Utilization of extracts from the skin of sentul fruit (Sandoricum koetjape) as well as the proper use of natural sources will have an impact on the prevention and healing of gingivitis. The study aimed to determine the decrease in the number of Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria colonies after administration of nano gel of sentul fruit peel extract in the gingivitis model of white Wistar rats. Method: study design with experimental animal models. The data obtained by the One-Way ANOVA test and if the effect is significant continue with Duncan's test at the 5% level. Result: There was a decrease in the number of Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus Aureus bacteria colonies after administration of Sentul fruit peel extract gel in the gingivitis model of white Wistar Rats. The best gel concentration was Sentul peel extract gel 2.4% with the smallest number of bacterial colonies, Staphylococcus aureus colonies of 2.2 x 102 ± 1.9 x 101 colony forming unit (cfu) and the number of Streptococcus mutans colonies of 2.6 x 102 ± 1.2 x 101 CFU. Conclusion: Sentul fruit peel extract 2.4% effectively inhibits the growth of Streptococcus mutans and Staphylococcus Aureus in white Wistar rat models with gingivitis.
