Abstract

Plating on plastics has become a widely used technology that provides decorative and functional finishes on iniection-molded components. Innovations in plating and plastic technology over the past 20 years have extended the application of plated plastics into highly cost-competitive electronic devices, automotive hardware, critical performance applications, medical devices, and military electronics. Plating-on-plastics processes have been developed to address present-day design challenges while also providing functional cost-effective and reliable solutions.
