Abstract

A 15-year-old female patient presented with increased volume in the posterior region of the left jaw. Panoramic radiography showed a radiolucent, unilocular, well-defined lesion, with a radiopaque halo, surrounding the crown of tooth 37. Incisional biopsy and decompression were performed and the anatomopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of a dentigerous cyst. After 8 months of decompression control, enucleation and extraction of teeth 36, 37, and 38 were performed. The patient remains under clinical and radiographic follow-up. A 37-year-old male patient presented with loss of sensation and increased volume in base of left jaw. Panoramic radiography revealed an osteolytic area, unilocular, extending from tooth 34 to the angle of the jaw. An incisional biopsy was performed, with an anatomopathologic diagnosis of odontogenic keratocyst. Decompression was performed and the device was removed after 2 months. Eight months later, enucleation and extraction of the involved teeth were performed. The patient remains in clinical and imaging follow-up.
