Abstract

Destruction of volatile organic compounds in the stream of flue gases from simulated waste combustion process was studied in this work. The simulated off-gas was prepared by combusting Polish light oil with air, and it was irradiated under electron beam (EB) generated from a ILU-6 accelerator. Qualitative and quantitative analyses of organic compounds from off-gas at inlet and outlet of an EB-irradiation chamber were carried out by using a GC–MS. Removal efficiencies of volatile organic compounds under EB-irradiation were calculated.
