Abstract

The decomposition of a supersaturated Al-0.68 at. % (1.4 wt. %) Fe solid solution in the isochronal annealing process is studied by electron microscope technique. The stability of the solid solution and the type and development of the precipitation pattern are discussed. The decomposition temperature range is established and compared to the disintegration of some amorphous and metastable crystalline structures.
