Abstract

Abstract Investigations on treatment of furfural wastewater using photocatalytic technology are few. Furfural wastewater was efficiently degraded under simulated sunlight irradiation by a series of N-doped TiO2 samples prepared via hydrothermal method. The optimum photodegradation efficiency is 97.35%. The factors affecting the photodegradation efficiency, including the amounts of EDTA-2Na, furfural wastewater concentrations, and concentrations of photocatalysts in furfural wastewater, are investigated.
