Abstract

SummaryA computer program has been written in Fortran to translate coded soil profile data into conventional text. It reads data from 80‐column punched cards in fixed format. The data can be screened for their relevance to an inquiry, and the output can be adapted to the user's requirements. Standard codes, data specifications, and output layout are provided, but users who have special requirements can provide their own. One version of the program provides a more or less abbreviated translation with a tabular layout, the other gives complete descriptions in conventional text with punctuation.
