Abstract
Select estimates of contraceptive use in the 2015–16 National Family Health Survey (NFHS is equivalent to the Demographic and Health Survey in India) have come under the scrutiny of researchers and policy makers globally. Using four waves (1992–93, 1998–99, 2005–06, and 2015–16) of published NFHS reports, this article aims to highlight the change in Contraceptive Prevalence Rate (CPR) and initiate a discussion to help investigate the reasons for the recent decline of CPR.
