Abstract

Bone scan and Myocardial Perfusion Imaging (MPI) images are nuclear medicine images used for identifying bone metastasis and coronary artery disease. Bone scan images are monochrome, gray and less in color. MPI images are non-monochrome. Bone scan and MPI are obtained after three hours of intravenous radioactive injection. The radiated gamma rays within the body traced through gamma camera creates an image were clinicians studied and report the metastasis involvement and coronary syndrome. Bone scintigraphy is an imaging technique widely used by clinicians to diagnosis bone metastasis in various types of malignancy. MPI are used to identify ischemic and infarction of the heart disease. This study reviewed various decision support system using different techniques and approaches in bone scan and MPI images which helps the nuclear medicine physicians to avoid misinterpretation in classifying bone metastasis and Ischemia or infarction of heart diseases. We have applied the bone scintigraphy diagnosing techniques of earlier study to myocardial perfusion scintigraphy for detecting ischemia or infraction of heart diseases. The experimental results on precision and recall percentage equally gained the f1 score of 93% on given dataset.
